Carhartt was founded in 1889 in Detroit, USA, by Hamilton Carhartt and is still owned by the Carhartt family. Carhartt is the largest supplier of workwear* in the US and is known as affordable, quality workwear for hardworking people who expect a little more than just comfort and convenience. Carhartt B.V. (Europe/Pacific) has been active in the European market since 2008 and is based in Amsterdam, in Zeeburg.

Around 68 people work at Carhartt EMEA/PAC, of which 5 are in Germany/Switzerland and 3 in the UK (sales). The formal language at Carhartt is English and as an intern, you will also be part of this international organization; Dutch is also spoken on the work floor but meetings, etc. are mainly in English.


- Support daily operational activities related to the presentation and promotion of our brand and merchandising and marketing plans.

- Collaborate with the Marketing team and other internal or external parties to produce promotional materials such as (online) brochures or presentations and various forms of communication.

- Support with the content (text and images) and layout of workbooks for our sales teams (fall/winter collection).

- Support preparations for events such as presentations, trade shows, promotional campaigns, etc.

- Support with the development of POS (point of sales) and store promotional materials and other marketing tools to support marketing and brand-related activities; inventory management for POS/promotional materials; order processing for POS and promotional materials; maintaining the Showroom; keeping up to date the overview of product samples.
- A research assignment regarding our (end) consumer, sales markets, distribution models, competition within our sales markets, presentation of and/or branding of our brand etc.


- Student in Fashion Management (Amsterdam Fashion Institute; TMO), Marketing or Communications (International Business Management/Languages)

- Interest in the apparel industry, preferably some work experience in the apparel/fashion industry

- Administrative skills, likes to work precisely and accurately

- (Project-)organization skills

- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), digitally proficient (learns new systems quickly)

- Good written and verbal skills in English (business language) and Dutch (and/or other language)

- ‘Can-do' mentality

- Starting date per February 2023, if earlier or later by mutual agreement

- Internship compensation of gross €300 gross per month based on 37-hour work week (full-time at Carhartt)
